Engg Student Killed in a Road Rage

Hyderabad: A 22-year-old Rekkala Abhishek Reddy studying engineering, was killed by a group of unidentified persons during a quarrel resulting from a small road accident near Mominpet in VIkarabad district. The group assaulted Abhishek with sticks and kicked him, leaving him in an unconscious stage. He was rushed to a corporate hospital at Hyderabad, where he was declared dead.

Police registered a murder case and launched a hunt for the suspects. Around 10 persons were learnt to have been involved in the assault.

Police said Abhishek was returning home after meeting his sister in Hyderabad. He travelled till Vikarabad in a bus, from there took his scooter, which he had parked early in the day and started home on it.

Enroute, at Kottagadi village while crossing a culvert, his bike and another bike coming in the opposite direction collided. As a result, Abhishek and the rider fell down and sustained injuries.

They then entered into a quarrel, following which the biker called his friends over the phone.

A group of youngsters rushed to the spot and along with the biker, started attacking Abhishek with sticks and also rained punches and kicks.

Meanwhile, Abhishek’s father Panduranga Reddy, who was calling him to know till where he had reached, found out that he was badly injured and rushed to him. Abhishek was first rushed to a private hospital in Vikarabad town and then to Hyderabad, where he was declared dead.
