Anantapur: 1 killed in factional rivalry
Anantapur: Dharmavaram police cracked the murder case of Y. Chenna Reddy of Badavanapalli in Dharmavaram mandal in the district who was killed by his rivals. This was the case of a 25-year-old rivalry. Chenna Reddy had allegedly killed the grandfather of the accused 25 years ago. Incharge DSP Rama Varma said Chenna Reddy and his aides had killed Kapadam Naganna during a clash in Ugadi celebrations in the village 25 years ago.
Naganna was killed on the spot while his son Suryanarayana suffered injuries. Suryanarayana’s son K. Gangadhar, 28 has been leading his group politically in the village. Gangadhar developed a grudge against Reddy for killing his grandfather and hatched a plan to kill him, suspecting further threat to his family. About a week ago, Reddy was attacked by Gangadhar and his close aides at the agriculture fields and was killed. Police seized hunting sickles and two bikes and arrested Gangadhar.
