Techie with bullet held at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
Hyderabad: A techie working in the United States and returning there after a holiday was arrested by Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police for carrying a live bullet.
Naga Murali Krishna, a software engineer from Dilsukhnagar, was going to board his flight when security officials detected the bullet in his baggage and handed him over to the police.
During the interrogation, Murali, who works for a multi-national company in the US, said that he brought the bullets from US ‘accidentally’.
“He says that he got the bullet from the shooting range in US, where he had visited previously. The bullet was kept in his bag and he was not aware that it was still there when he embarked of his journey,” an RGI police official said.
Murali Krishna had visited his house and was returning after a short vacation. He claimed that he did not know the bullet was in the bag before coming to airport.
Police said that the passenger does not have a license to carry ammunition. A case has been booked against him for carrying it illegally.
