Bengaluru: A 45-year-old woman was found brutally murdered by unknown assailants at her house in Goraguntepalaya on Friday morning under the RMC Yard police limits. The deceased, Yashodamma, was a coolie and did odd jobs for her living.
The incident came to light when Yashodamma’s son Jagadish came to the house in the morning and found his mother lying in a pool of blood. The victim was bludgeoned to death by a boulder that was lying near her body blood stained, said a police source.
Jagadish informed his neighbours, who alerted the police. The police rushed to the spot. The murder could have happened anytime between Thursday night and early Friday morning, the police said. The neighbours claimed that they did not hear sounds of any quarrel from the house. The police said that Yashodamma lived alone.
The police shifted her body to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital for the postmortem. “We are positive that we will get clues from there to get to the assailant/s,” a senior police officer said.
