VIJAYAWADA: A four-member gang, which robbed Rs 7 lakh cash from a truck driver near Mersumilli village of Mylavaram mandal in early hours of Friday, was nabbed by Krishna district police within hours of the incident. The entire cash amount has been recovered from them.
Mylavaram police gave names of gangsters as Somapangu Satish of Medipally village in Mudigonda mandal of Khammam district, Tolla Jagadish of Khammam, and Madasu Gopi and Galla Navin of Suryapet. They forcibly stopped the truck being driven by Shaik Papa Saheb, 52, and took away Rs 7 lakh that the latter was carrying for handing it over to a party in Yerrupalem village of Khammam district.

They threatened Saheb, robbed the cash and drove away in their car.
The victim lodged a complaint with Mylavaram police. District police superintendent Siddharth Kaushal quickly formed teams to nab the gang. Within hours, police traced the car, arrested the four gangsters and recovered the money from their possession.
