The victim, Seetharamulu, paid Rs 80 lakh to claim a multimillion dollar online lottery prize, which Nigerians made him to believe that he had won.

Hyderabad: A 48-year-old businessman from Nalgonda died of a heart attack after he realised that he was cheated by Nigerian fraudsters. The victim, Seetharamulu, paid Rs 80 lakh to claim a multimillion dollar online lottery prize, which Nigerians made him to believe that he had won. While he pooled in Rs 60 lakh from his own sources, his friend helped him with Rs 20 lakh.

When he did not receive any response from the gang, he lodged a complaint with the police. Soon he became depressed and died of a heart attack. “There could be more victims who fell into the trap and lost money. A victim from Hyderabad had also sold a plot for lottery money,” a police official said.
