Hyderabad: A 14-year-old girl committed suicide at her residence in Sammaiahnagar within Kakatiya police station limits on Sunday after she was gang-raped by two boys.
According to police, the Class IX student went out on Saturday with one of the boys, who was an acquaintance. He took her to a room near Ambala in Hasanparthy mandal where another boy joined them.
They sexually assaulted her after giving her sedatives and dropped her off at her residence. She narrated her ordeal to her grandmother and neighbours.
On Sunday morning, when her grandmother was not at home, she committed suicide by hanging herself.
Commissioner of police V Ravinder said the accused Prasanna Kumar, 16, and Tirupathi, 20, were arrested. He said special teams were formed to investigate the case.
Relatives of the girl said four or five boys were involved and not two as being claimed by the police. They said the girl told them that she had been threatened by one of the boys to accompany them.
