Two get life term for murder
CHENNAI: Two persons including a woman were sentenced to life imprisonment on charge of murdering a youth for urinating in an open place opposite their residence. They stoned him to death during the violent incident four years ago. According to Additional Public Prosecutor, S.P. Saravanan, D. Thirunavukkarasu, 34, of Triplicane was working in a shopping mall in Anna Salai in the housekeeping department. He had gone to Annai Sathiya Nagar along with his wife Jyothi, 30 and a relative Harish Srikanth on August 3, 2012.
When they were returning to Triplicane, Thirunavukkarasu and Harish attended natural call near a tea shop in Annai Sathiya Nagar. Vijaya, 47, staying near the place, abused them for urinating in front of her house and started engaged in heated altercation with them. Hearing them noise, Vijay, 22, Kumaresan, 19, Sathya. 20 and Kumar, 23, relatives of Vijaya, rushed to the place and started a quarrel with the duo.
Later, they pelted stones at Thirunavukkarasu, who sustained injuries rushed to Royapettah Government General hospital. He succumbed to head injuries in the hospital. The inspector, Fort Police station registered case against five persons including Vijaya. The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000. Kumaresan, Sathya and Kumar were acquitted.
