Osmania General Hospital contractor held for not paying allowances of staff

Hyderabad: Osmania General Hospital contractor Supriya Laxmi was arrested by the Afzalgunj police station for not paying the 270 sanitation contract workers for six months.

A senior health official from the OGH administration aid the workers had struck work as their salaries were not paid in July.

“Now a part of the salary was paid but the allowances are still pending. Following this, complaint was lodged at the Afzalgunj police station,” he said.

As the situation was getting very volatile at the hospital, the police arrested the contractor on Thursday morning and stated that they would investigate the default.
