Tiger kills buffalo in Anakapalle district

Forest officials said the tiger also killed two sheep on Monday evening

Visakhapatnam: A male tiger on the prowl in Anakapalle district killed a buffalo at Gandhavaram village under Chodavaram mandal. Three days ago, it killed a calf at Bauluvada village under Anakapalle mandal.

Forest officials said the tiger also killed two sheep on Monday evening. Forest teams were tracking the tiger movement and set up cameras and a cage with a trap to lure it.

The fresh attack has created panic among the people in the region. Officials said more than 30 forest staff were involved in the tracking and rescue operations.

The tiger may move towards Chodavaram mandal in Anakapalle district, officials said.

The tiger was first spotted in East Godavari district and it moved forward via Peddapalle, Yelamanchili, Kotauratla, Kasimkota and now Anakapalle Mandals of Anakapalle district.
