Hyderabad: A car driver who allegedly strangulated his wife and son to death before setting them ablaze was held by Sangareddy police on Thursday. The accused is suspected to have killed them because his wife refused to sell a piece of land registered on her name and give him the money.
According to our sources, the victims, identified as Kavitha, 28, and her son Dinesh, 4, were found burnt inside their house in Karasgutti village, Nagalgidda mandal on Wednesday evening. The woman’s husband Venkat Reddy attempted to stage a drama by telling locals that his wife had committed suicide.
The police took Venkat Reddy in custody for questioning during which he reportedly confessed to killing his wife and son. He told the police that his wife had four acres of land registered on her name and he wanted her to sell it and give him the money. Enraged as she refused to comply, he reportedly strangulated her and their son and then set them ablaze, sources claimed.
