Remand prisoner tries to end life in the Rajendranagar court

Hyderabad: An remand prisoner attempted suicide in the Rajendranagar court complex on Tuesday.

Sheikh Amir who was arrested in a theft case, inflicted severe cuts on himself with a blade in front of the judge. He was rushed to the hospital and is said to be out of danger.

Police registered a case under attempt to suicide charges. Amir was arrested for five house burglary cases in Rajendranagar and was produced before the VIII Metropolitan Magistrate court In Upparpally.

While questioning was going on, he took out a blade from his pocket and started cutting his body and injured himself on his head, chest and hands.

He started bleeding profusely and was rushed to a nearby hospital. After first aid, doctors declared him out of danger and then he was produced before the court again and was shifted to prison.

Police said that he will be produced before the court after his recovery.

Ameeer was earlier detained under PD act by Cyberabad Police.
