Chennai: A day after a mentally unstable man was beaten to death suspecting him to be a child-lifter, Tiruvallur police arrested 13 persons on Friday. On the same day, when Rukmani of Zamin Pallavaram was beaten to death on Wednesday in Tiruvannamalai, the mentally unstable man was killed and his body was hung in Palaverkadu bridge.
Thirupalaivanam police have retrieved the body and registered a case. Meanwhile, 13 residents of Arangam Kuppam, Light House Kuppam, Sembasi Pallikuppam and other villages were arrested. The district police also have arrested 2 persons for beating a north Indian man near Medhur.
It is also to be noted that the Tiruvannamalai police have arrested 23 persons for beating Rukmani to death. The district police also have arrested Veera Raghavan for circulating rumour video regarding the child trafficking.
