Hyderabad: 2 held for attempt to molest
Hyderabad: A businessman managed to prevent a 28-year-old woman from being raped in Dundigal on Wednesday. Jangareddy who heard the woman’s scream for help alerted police, who rescued the women and arrested the suspects identified as Joginder Pal Singh, an employee of a private firm and Mohammed Sohail, a vegetable vendor.
DCP Balanagar Dr Y Saishekar said that, the victim from Khammam district and a male friend were going to Miyapur on his bike. Joginder and Sohail, going in their car, approached them. They assaulted the man and dragged the woman into the bushes and attempted to sexually assault her.
Jangareddy was going in his car with his son when he heard the cry for help by the woman and alerted the cops.
Police rushed to the spot and found the suspects trying to sexually assault the woman. Sohail fled but Joginder was caught. Based on the statement by Joginder, Sohail was also nabbed. A case under charges of rape, kidnap, wrongful confinement, causing hurt and charges of prevention of SC&ST atrocities act was registered and the duo were arrested and sent to remand on Thursday.
