Hyderabad: Following a complaint from a techie regarding alleged harassment by an ex-colleague, the police detained the accused on Tuesday. A twitter user and friend of the techie who goes by the name Shiva Shankar took to twitter to complain to Cyberabad police on behalf of the petrified victim who was reportedly sexually harassed by an ex-colleague. He was booked under Section 354D (stalking) of IPC at the Madhapur police station.
According to the complaint, the accused purportedly harassed the victim by seeking sexual favours. Mr Shankar alleged that the person currently works with Wells Fargo.
However, Wells Fargo denied that the accused is employed with them. “The Cyberabad police has arrested the accused and he has confessed to not ever being a Wells Fargo employee. Wells Fargo accords the highest importance to employee welfare and safety,” said the company in a statement. According to Madhapur police official, the accused is being questioned and the investigation is in progress.
