Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau trapped G. Upendra Reddy, Assistant Executive Engineer, Gummadidala, Sanga Reddy district. The accused was caught red-handed near hill country Bachupally Road while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from the complainant Pullaguria Laxma Reddy for processing and issuing of a Full Tank Level and Buffer Zone clearance certificate for conversion of agricultural land into non-agricultural land in the name of his mother P.Yasodamma.
The bribe amount of Rs 15,000 was recovered from possession of the accused officer. The assistant executive engineer was arrested and will be produced before the Special court for ACB cases at Hyderabad.
In case of demand of bribe by any assistant executive engineer, irrigation department or any officer of the irrigation department, the public are requested to contact toll free number of ACB, i.e 1064 to complain against the officer and let the law take its course.
