Hyderabad: Engineer with Rs 1 crore assets held

The ACB said that Prabhu owned plots of land in Boduppal, Sangareddy and Bagh Hayathnagar.

Hyderabad: ACB sleuths raided the house of M. Manik Prabhu, deputy executive engineer on the A. Madhav Reddy Srisailam Left Bank Canal project, and found Rs 1 crore worth of disproportionate assets with him. The ACB had earlier trapped him in his office in Nalgonda.

The ACB said that Prabhu owned plots of land in Boduppal, Sangareddy and Bagh Hayathnagar. “We have recovered the land documents from his home. He has fixed deposits of Rs 73 lakh in three banks, Rs 3 lakh cash at home, 700 gm gold in a locker at SBH, a car and two two-wheelers,” an official said.

The ACB had booked Prabhu last month after catching him redhanded while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.3 lakh from one Jaipal Reddy for doing an official favour. The ACB has registered a new case on Prabhu for possessing disproportionate assets.
