The Kamakshipalya police have arrested a 46-year-old truck driver for allegedly raping a 30-year-old woman, whom he knew for four years.

Bengaluru: The Kamakshipalya police have arrested a 46-year-old truck driver for allegedly raping a 30-year-old woman, whom he knew for four years. The victim, a single mother, was living with her 10-year-old son in Vinayakanagar. She got acquainted with the accused, Nagaraju, who used to visit her frequently and had even lent her Rs 4 lakh recently, the police added. However, on Wednesday, the victim filed a complaint with the police accusing Nagaraju for raping her repeatedly for many days.
Based on the complaint, the police have arrested Nagaraju and subjected the victim and the accused for medical examinations. He was then produced before a magistrate and remanded to judicial custody. The police are further investigating the case.
