Nellore: In a bizarre mishap, a woman died on the spot when her son allegedly hit her with a stick in a fit of anger, following a heated argument at Mittatmakur Village in Gudur rural mandal, late on Sunday night.
According to Gudur Rural Circle Inspector Vamsidhar, the deceased Velugu Venkatamma was the wife of Velugu Peda Chanchaiah and they belong to Girijan community.
The couple worked cutting casuarinas, along with the people in their community. The woman was not in her good health and she was at loggerheads with her husband over some family issues. They had a tiff on Sunday night also.
The couple attacked each other in a fit of anger and Venkatamma decided to go back to her parents’ home, upset with the attitude of her husband.
Against this backdrop, her son Chinna Chenchaiah accused her for creating a scene and hit her with a stick on the head.
Venkatamma, who was weak due to health problems, died on the spot.
Police rushed to the village on Monday morning and registered a case. Police said the accused is at large and search is on.
