Bhopal woman castrates brother-in-law after repeated sexual harassment
Bhopal: A 30-year-old woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district on Thursday was accused of allegedly chopping off 22-year-old brother-in-law’s penis after he repeatedly tired to coerce her into a sexual relationship, according to a report in Hindustan Times.
Following the incident the man, Sanju Koul, reportedly committed suicide due to humiliation.
The police said that the woman later came to the police station to confess her crime, holding her brother-in-law’s severed organ.
“He allegedly committed suicide because of humiliation...Her parents-in-law didn’t come to know about the incident as the entire incident took place early in the morning and also because Sanju didn’t make any noise,” the town inspector of Churhat, Arti Chourate, told the newspaper.
The woman, Vimlesh, resides in Narhai village with her in-laws, while her husband works as a labourer in Nashik. She told the police that Sanju harassed her and repeatedly tried to establish sexual relations with her.
A case of attempt to murder has been registered under section 307 against Vimlesh.
“The accused woman is shaken...due to the entire episode. She is presently in the village. We have registered a case against her under section 307 and will soon take her in our custody,” said the town inspector.
A similar incident occurred in Bhopal last Wednesday, when eunuchs allegedly sedated and castrated a 24-year-old man in an attempt to ‘convert him’.
