KAKINADA: Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Court Judge L. Venkateswara Rao sentenced Golla Amar Raj Kumar alias Koneti Kumar (30) of Rajampet in Annamayya district to 10 years in jail on Thursday.
According to Two Town police, Koneti Kumar cheated a 16 -year-old girl in the name of love and raped her for five years.
As per the complaint given by the girl, Kakinada Two Town police registered a case. Later, the accused got a bail and did not attend the court for hearings.
Two Town police headed by the circle inspector K. Nageswara Naick went to Rajampet and brought the accused to the court one month ago. As the charges were proved, the Judge sentenced him to 10 years in jail.
The police said that the accused was also indulged in several theft cases.
