I'm female, says man held by Rachakonda police
Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police is now faced with a peculiar incident while arresting a person in a cheating case.
The accused who was caught by the police has claimed that he is a female who has undergone an operation to change his sex.
A few days ago, the Kushaiguda police received a complaint that two persons have cheated car rental agencies by booking the cars and selling them for money. They also used the cars for a long time without handing it over to the rental agencies.
Based on the investigation, the police apprehended two persons – Pothulaiah and Syed Siraj Hussain, who confessed to committing the offence.
Kushaiguda inspector K. Chandra Shekar said, “Pothulaiah and Siraj were caught in the cheating case. While entering the details, Siraj claimed that he is female and asked the police to enter his gender as female in the records. When enquired, he told that he is a native of Fatehpur in Karimnagar and was born a female.
He went to Mumbai three years ago and got an operation done to change his name.”
Siraj was sent to a government hospital to confirm his gender and served notices under Section 41 of CrPC, while Pothulaiah has been arrested. The inspector said, “It may take about 10 to 15 days for the report to arrive and we have to probe Siraj’s claim.”
Irrespective of the report on the gender of Siraj, he will be placed under arrest.”
