Two more held for hacking CPM worker in Thiruvananthapuram

With this, six of the seven accused have been arrested.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two more RSS men were arrested on Thursday for allegedly attempting to murder CPM worker L.S. Saju of Edavacode in December. With this, six of the seven accused have been arrested.

They were identified as Swatheesh, 24, of Pongummoodu and Akhil alias Abbas Kannan, 23, of Keraladityapuram who was the Mukhyashikshak of local RSS shakha. They were held from Thiruvananthapuram central railway station while attempting to flee to Tamil Nadu in a train, Medical College station inspector C. Binukumar said.

Those arrested earlier were Sumesh, Jayashankar and Vignesh. CPM Vanchiyoor area committee member Saju was hacked by armed assailants on December 28 to avenge the murder of RSS Basti Karyavahak Rajesh at Edavacode in July 2016. Saju is still recuperating from his injuries.
