Bengaluru: 24-year-old woman commits suicide, in-laws arrested
Bengaluru: Two people committed suicide by hanging in separate incidents in Puttenahalli and RR Nagar police station limits. In the first incident, a 24-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house at Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Wednesday night.
She left a suicide note alleging harassment by her in-laws, the police said. The deceased has been identified as Nirmala, a native of Mysuru. She got married a year ago to Vishwanath, who worked in a private company in Japan.
The police said that he often used to visit city to spend time with his family and had last come two months ago.
After Nirmala committed suicide, her in-laws came across the suicide note and tore it. Later while examining the crime scene, R.R. Nagar police came across pieces of the note.
The RR Nagar police have registered a case and have detained Nirmala’s in-laws for tampering with the evidence. In another incident, a 23-year-old cab driver committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his residence in Chunchaghatta main road on Wednesday night in Puttenahalli police station limits. The deceased has been identified as Ravi Kiran.
According to the police, Ravi Kiran took the extreme step while his mother had gone to the market. When she returned she found him hanging from the ceiling fan.
Though Ravi Kiran was rushed to a hospital, doctors there declared him brought dead. The reason behind the suicide has not been confirmed yet. The Puttenahalli police have registered a case and begun investigation.
