Hyderabad man harasses woman, jailed

The police arrested the suspect following a tip off from the public and he was charged under the City Police Act.

Hyderabad: A 21-year-old man was convicted to seven days imprisonment for harassing a college student at a bus stand in Secunderabad.

The drunk suspect was caught red handed by a team of cops from Gopalapuram. He was produced in court on Wednesday and was sent to jail.

The culprit, Ravinder, hailing from Gorakhpur in UP, followed the girl on Tuesday when she got down from train at the Secunderabad railway station and started troubling her.

“She was waiting for a bus to go to Safilguda. Ravinder, who was drunk, started asking her questions. He also asked if she wanted to go with him. When she moved away he continued to follow her,” said a police official from Gopalpuram police station.

The police arrested the suspect following a tip off from the public and he was charged under the City Police Act.
