Bengaluru: In no less than a cinematic chase, the city police arrested three people redhanded while they were getting away in a stolen car.
The police intercepted the culprits on Nagawara Ring Road and caught Shanawaz, Abbas and Ali.
In their bid to escape, the trio also tried to run over policemen, but were chased and caught by the police. Three policemen sustained minor injuries during the chase.
The modus operandi of the three accused was to hire a cab, later divert the attention of the cab driver and then take away his car.
In other cases, the city police arrested Taufeeq, who had allegedly robbed a two-wheeler and nine mobile phones.
In a separate incident, the city police also arrested a notorious chainsnatcher, Shashikumar, and have recovered gold jewellery worth '1.5 lakh and four two-wheelers from him.
