Hyderabad: Vacation ends on fatal note, 3 of 6 techies die
Hyderabad: Three techies died on the spot and three more sustained serious injuries in an accident while they were returning to Hyderabad from Gokarna on Monday morning in their SUV.
The victims were identified as Kamesh, 25, Mahesh, 25 and Manikanta, 23, police said, adding that the injured friends were identified as Anil, Avinash and Amarnath. “The incident occurred near Nallagattu on the Raichur-Hyderabad highway at around 4.30 am.
The friends were residents of Visakhapatnam and natives of East Godavari, and were heading to Hyderabad from Gokarna, after a weekend getaway in an SUV bearing the number TS 08 FL 0225,” said Manganoor police inspector, Venkat.
According to Manganoor police sub-inspector, Krishna, “The SUV was speeding and Kamesh was behind the wheel when it hit the culvert and overturned, killing the trio on the spot and injuring the others. “Anil, Avinash and Amarnath were treated immediately and sent to Hyderabad,” concluded the police.
The SUV was registered under one Subramanyam Murugudu and had pending challans amounting to Rs 5,475, since November, 2017.
Four of the five challans were issued for overspeeding and one for wrong parking.
