Hyderabad: Rage, no patience leads to murders

No one should take the law into their own hands, emphasises Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sultan Bazaar, Dr Chetana Mylabathula.

Hyderabad: Disputes, minor or major, have been the prime reason for the recent murders and attacks in the city. Road rage and passing provocative comments comes second, said a senior official of the Hyderabad city police. Trivial disputes between young people often escalate to stabbings and this is happening more than ever before, he added.

In mid-March, a youngster identified as Sudheer Kumar was brought dead to the hospital after he was punched to death by four men in the Krishna Nagar area of Jubilee Hills.

“The four men questioned him for coming in the wrong direction and dashing their bike. A drunk Sudheer passed comments, which irked them, and they delivered fist blows on his face, eventually killing him,” said ACP, Banjara Hills, K. Srinivasa Rao.

No one should take the law into their own hands, emphasises Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sultan Bazaar, Dr Chetana Mylabathula. “We are here to punish the men and one should just inform us. Hyderabad police respond within minutes and a patrolling vehicle is promptly sent to the spot. If one can just have a minute’s patience, a lot can be avoided. If you are patient enough to wait and call us, things would be different,” she said.
