RAMESWARAM: Police here seized 1,200 bottles of liquor that was being smuggled in a mini-lorry in Ramnad district on Saturday night.
A police patrol was conducting regular vehicle checks at Mandapam in the district on Saturday night when police personnel stopped a mini-lorry on suspicion.
On a check inside the lorry, police found 1,200 bottles of liquor stacked inside, all worth about Rs 1.5 lakh.
The officials seized both the lorry and the contraband. The driver was arrested and enquiries are on.
