Hyderabad: Man commits suicide due to mounting debts

The victim had several pending loans and he is unable to clear them due to his financial situation.

Hyderabad: A 40-year-old person committed suicide on Friday by hanging himself due to financial problems under Chaitanyapuri police station limits.

The police have identified the victim as Seetharam Ganesh, 40, a medical technician survived by his wife and two children, namely Karthikeyan, 6, and Akshitha, 4.

According to the police Vijaya Lakshmi, 32, his wife went to her brother’s house at Nagole two days ago.

The victim had several pending loans and he is unable to clear them due to his financial situation.

Mr K. Sudharshan Reddy, sub-inspector of police, Chaitanyapuri, said, “The victim was alone at his residence and the suicide came to light on Saturday at about 10 am when their maid servant Shankaramma came home. Ganesh had tied a nylon thread to the ceiling fan and died.”

Locals immediately informed his family members and the police reached the spot. The police have registered a case under suspicious death and further investigation is underway.
