Hyderabad: On Saturday, a senior citizen succumbed to the severe injuries that he had sustained when he was hit by a bike being ridden by an engineering student. The incident occurred on Monday under the Medipally police limits.
The police identified the victim as K. Yadagiri, 70, an RTC pensioner. Police said Mr Yadagiri was crossing the road to return home after purchasing some flowers.
Medipally inspector Mr D. Anji Reddy said, “A speeding bike hit him and he fell on the road and sustained injuries.” to his head and leg. Locals immediately rushed him to a private hospital where he died while undergoing treatment at 3 am on Saturday."
He said one Abhishek, an engineering final year student, who was riding the bike, was arrested.
The police registered a case under Section 304(a) IPC and have started investigation. The police handed handed over the body to his family after a postmortem examination at Gandhi Hospital.
