Hyderabad: 4 youth kills 19-year-old friend as revenge arrested

All offenders are close friends and residents of Moosapet.

Hyderabad: Following the brutal incident wherein a 19-year-old intermediate student was hacked to death on Kukatpally main road earlier this year in March, the police commissioner of Cyberabad, Mr V.C. Sajjanar, on Wednesday, invoked the PD Act against the four men, all in their early 20's, involved in the murder.

The four were identified as Jilla Mahesh, 20, Baipothu Naveen alias Dingo, 20, Korra Teja Rao, 20, and Ippali Krishna alias Krishna, 21, police said, adding that the deceased was identified as Elagala Sudheer, 19, an intermediate student.

“The offenders are close friends and residents of Moosapet in Kukatpally. On March 9, Krishna quarrelled and assaulted Sudheer in Sabhyatha playground of Moosapet following a petty matter and absconded. Sudheer, along with his friends, decided to take revenge on him and searched and enquired about him with his friends, Mahesh, Naveen and Teja and beat them up,” said the Police Commissioner, adding that feeling insulted, the four hatched a plan to kill Sudheer to assert their domination in the locality and purchased two hunting sickles. They conducted a recce in the vicinity where Sudheer resides and went to his college and contacted one Bairedla Shiva, who resides nearby to ascertain his movements.”

Accordingly, on March 12, around 8 am, when Sudheer left home, the four chased him and his friends and intercepted them. “On seeing the gang, Sudheer disembarked from the bike and tried to board into a bus of Kennedy School that was passing on the road just then, but the men chased him and dragged him out from the bus on the National Highway 65 opposite to JSP Honda showroom in Kukatpally and attacked him on his face, hands, neck, shoulder, abdomen and other parts indiscriminately with the hunting sickle, leading to his death on the spot,” added the official.

When the men tried to flee from the spot, the traffic duty police personnel nearby, apprehended Naveen. The remaining three were arrested later.

The attack has left inhabitants of the locality, passers-by, commuters at the place of offence on the National Highway 65 panicky, causing them to run helter skelter and scared of rowdy activities of the accused persons, leaving large sections of people under the grip of fear and shock.

“Their acts have been prejudicial to the maintenance of public order and they should be kept out of the society for a considerable period. We will be detaining them in the prison to prevent them to commit such offences,” concluded the the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad who invoked P.D. Act against the four offenders.
