Hyderabad: A drunken father assaulted his five-year-old daughter with a shaving blade and inflicted several injuries on the child.
Police said Mogulaiah had an argument with his wife Hanumamma on Monday night and in anger assaulted the child. A case has been registered against him at the Madhapur police station for causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means, and under the Juvenile Justice Act, and he was arrested.
According to the police, O. Mogulaiah and his wife Hanmamma, moved from Bachupally to Madhapur and were living in a hut in Parvatanagar along with their daughter. They made a living from rag picking.
When their hut filled with water on Monday night, they took shelter in an under construction building in the neighbourhood. A drunken Mogulaiah picked an argument with his wife and in a fit of rage assaulted her and their daughter. He assaulted the child with a shaving blade, leaving deep cuts.
