S. Janardhan had migrated to the city a week ago from Bengaluru. On Monday, he returned to Hyderabad to begin work. After he got down from an inter-state bus and while he was negotiating the auto fare with the other two deceased, the speeding bus, which was en route to Koli from Lingampally, crashed into them.

Executive director, Road Transport Organisation, C Vinod Kumar, said, “The driver of the bus joined RTC in 2013 and was regularised in 2015. He underwent the periodical medical examination in July as is done to drivers who are above 45 years old. He was found to be fit for driving the vehicle.”

Raidurgam Inspector Ram Babu told this newspaper, “We got a call from 100; there were some police near the Gachibowli Chowrasta and they rushed to the spot.
