Bellandur police shoot at, arrest 2 rowdies
Bengaluru: Bellandur police have arrested two rowdies involved in cases of murders and robberies. The police had to shoot at the accused to arrest them after they allegedly attacked a police constable when he went to catch them.
The arrested have been identified as Muzammil, a resident of Anekal, and Amar, a resident of Chandapur. The arrest was made following a complaint of robbery by a software engineer Anand, from whom the bike borne accused had robbed a mobile phone on Sarjapur Main Road.
The police said that when they were on a patrol near Primus Public School off Sarjapur Road around 10 am, they spotted Muzammil and Amar on bikes. When the police approached them, they allegedly tried to escape. When one of the constables went to catch them, the accused assaulted him with a knife. Bellandur inspector Simon shot at their legs and injured them. Later, the rowdies were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
