Kakinada: A 25-year-old youth raped a 15-year-old minor girl at Vayedu hamlet in Rajavommangi mandal on Saturday evening. According to Rajavommangi police, the victim went to Sunday market along with her grandparents. As she was waiting for an auto to go back home, one Cheedi Chinna Rao, said to be her relative, offered her to drop her to her house by his bike.
On their way, Chinna Rao stopped his bike and forced himself on the girl after dragging her to nearby bush forest.
He also threatened her not to inform anyone about the incident. However, the girl informed her parents about the same. Rajavommangi SI S. Ravi Kumar registered a case under 376, 323, 506 and section 5 (m) r/w 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. Assistant superintendent of police Adnam Nayeem Asmi visited the spot and enquired about the matter. Police investigation is on.
