KAKINADA: A 24-year-old MBBS student S. Satya Tanusha of Vijayawada fell accidentally under a train at Kakinada Railway Station on Thursday and died.
Government Railway Police investigation officer N. Ravi Kumar explained that Tanusha, along with two other MBBS girl students, had been studying at the NRI Medical College in Vijayawada. They were coming to Kakinada by Seshadri Express on Thursday.
When Tanusha tried to get down even before the train could halt on Platform Number 2, she accidently slipped and fell on to the tracks. Passengers pulled the chain and stopped the train. However, by then Tanusha had died of grievous injuries.
Kakinada Government Railway Police have registered a case.
