Youth held for targeting car carrying KSYC chairperson Chintha Jerome
Ms Jerome and her driver escaped unhurt.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kallambalam police arrested a youth for allegedly damaging a private car carrying Kerala State Youth Commission chairperson Chintha Jerome on Thursday. The youth who was wielding a machete targeted the car while it was stuck in a traffic jam. The suspect was identified as Vishakh, 25 son of Vijayan of Koottil veedu, Aanathalavattom.
He was overpowered, tied up and handed over to police by local people. Ms Jerome and her driver escaped unhurt. As per the police, Vishakh was drunk. He had similar cases pending against him at Chirayinkeezhu. Meanwhile, people who tied him up told media that the youth was mentally unsound.
