Absconding accused wanted in rape case held in Kozhikode after 13 years

The accused Nibu Joseph (41), a native of Idukki, was arrested from Kozhikode.
After coming out on bail, they were allegedly threatening key witnesses in the murder case.
Kochi: The Pothanikkadu police has arrested an absconding accused wanted in connection with a rape case in 2003.
The accused Nibu Joseph (41), a native of Idukki, was arrested from Kozhikode. Though he was initially arrested in the case in 2003, he went into hiding after being granted bail.
“Nibu had been working undercover at various hotels in Kozhikode for the last 13 years. We finally arrested him from Kozhikode at 8 pm on Tuesday based on a secret information,” the police said.
He was produced before a local court which remanded him in judicial custody till August 18.
According to cops, the accused along with two others allegedly raped a native of Njarakkattukara at the house of one of them.
