Kurnool Constable From Aspari PS Suspended in Fake Currency Scam
Kurnool: A constable from Aspari police station in Kurnool has been suspended on Monday related to a case of counterfeit currency. District SP Krishnakanth informed that P. Vijay Kumar is a constable from the 2009 batch and has been serving at the police station since 2020. A case has been registered against him under Aspari Police Station under Sections 420, r/w 34 IPC, 489 (B), read with 511 IPC.
The case involves Jogi Anjaneya, a resident of Karumanchi village in Aspari mandal, who allegedly took Rs 4.80 lakh from a man named Anjaneya by promising to provide him with 3 lakh counterfeit notes in exchange for Rs 1 lakh.
However, the counterfeit notes were never delivered, and the money was not returned.
The investigation has revealed that similar incidents involving others have taken place as well. Aluru CI Venkateswarlu is the investigating officer, and the role of constable Vijay Kumar is yet to be determined in the case, the SP explained.
