Kochi: Actor Dileep, who was on Monday arrested in the abduction and rape of a popular actor has been slapped section 120 (B) of IPC for criminal conspiracy. He will be produced before the Angamali chief judicial magistrate on Tuesday. According to top police sources, the cops are confident that they will be able to prove that Dileep was the brain behind the entire episode and claim they have the evidence to clinch his role. The police has managed to crack the phone conversations of people close to Dileep.
Sources claim that Dileep may also face charges under IPC Section 34, which says when a criminal act is done by several persons in furtherance of the common intention of all, each of such persons is liable for that act in the same manner as if it were done by him alone. The police has registered the actor assault case under section IPC 376 (rape). That the prime accused in the case Pulsar Suni has offered to give a statement under CrPC section 164 may also weigh against the actor. Police sources claim that they have proof that Pulsar Sunil was an acquaintance of Dileep whom he has known for years. There were reports that memory card with the visuals were allegedly handed over to Dilleep's close confidante. The police believes that the disputes in the marriage with actor Manju Warrier and the subsequent divorce and multi-crore land deals led to the abduction of the actor.
