Hyderabad: An 18-year-old was allegdly killed by his elder brother over a money dispute. The latter tried to cover up the incident as an accident before his parents, the Dundigal police said.

The truth tumbled out when the mother got suspicious and closely questioned her son. The son, Vinay Kumar, broke down and confessed, police said. The mother filed a police complaint naming her son in the murder.

Police said the family of C. Aruna and Janakiram, who work as labourers, live along with their sons Vinay Kumar and Karthik Kumar at Annaram village in Sangareddy district.

On Sunday night, Vinay called his mother and informed her that Karthik had met with an accident near the Outer Ring Road circle at Dundigal.

Aruna and Janakiram rushed to the spot and found Karthik lying on the road. They immediately called for an ambulance to shift him to a hospital. However, Karthik died on his way to the hospital.

When Aruna checked her son’s body, she found an injury to his head. Doubtful over this, Ms Aruna began questioning Vinay who was the last person to be seen with Karthik. Vinay then confessed to have killed his younger sibling over a money issue. “Vinay called Karthik to a hotel for dinner.
