Hyderabad: Auto driver rams bike, kills 1, flees
Hyderabad: One person was killed and another survived when the bike they were travelling on was hit by an auto moving in the wrong direction at Jawaharnagar on Sunday night. The police booked a case and are searching for the auto driver.
The accident took place at Vampuguda graveyard at around 10.30 pm on Sunday. Kodari Swamy (32), an electrician, and his cousin K Mahesh was heading towards BJR Nagar from Jammaiguda on a bike (AP 29 AJ 0228) when a speeding auto trolley (TS 08 UE 7122) rammed into their vehicle.
The two bikers fell on the road and suffered severe bleeding injuries. Passersby alerted the police and also the family members of the victims and shifted them to Lifeline Hospital for treatment.
Swamy was declared dead on arrival by the doctors while Mahesh was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment, said police.
A case has been registered and a search is on to nab the absconding auto driver.
