Kurnool: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has discovered assets worth Rs 10 crore from an executive officer (EO) of Omkaram and Nayanalappa temples in Kurnool district.

Six ACB teams raided EO R.Veeraiah's properties in Kurnool, Kadapa and Prakasam districts simultaneously on Thursday. A case has been registered against him for owning assets disproportionate to his income.

Kurnool ACB DSP Jayaram Raj said Veeraiah was a “big catch” for the department. The ACB had reportedly conducted preliminary inquiries before raiding his homes and those of his relatives in six different areas of Kurnool, Kadapa and Prakasam, and listed three houses, seven residential plots of land and three plots of farmland.

The team also found 300 grams of gold, 100 grams of silver and Rs 50,400 in cash, Mr Jayaram said. All documents and ornaments, as well as a State Bank of India locker in Nandyal town, have been seized, he added.

In recent times, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has been inviting citizens to be part of the anti-corruption movement, and publishing advertisements with catchy slogans to dissuade government employees from indulging in corrupt practices.
