Hyderabad: Rs 70 lakh hawala money seized
Hyderabad: In a huge haul, around Rs 70 lakh Hawala money was seized by the Central Zone Task Force team in Begum Bazar and three persons who were involved in the money transfer were apprehended.
The three accused Katragadda Naresh, Kasim Mohammed Raza, Hyder Raza were nabbed by the task force team.
According to the police, acting on credible information, kept a surveillance on the movements of the suspicious persons.
P. Radha Kishan Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force said, “When a tipoff identified the hawala money collection and transportation at Sravana Narsingh Home line, Opp. Baba Tent House, Malakunta, Hyderabad, the three accused who were in possession of huge unaccounted money in two bags were apprehended while trying to transport the money on bikes.”
When questioned, one of the accused, Naresh, disclosed that his uncle Vijay Shanker wanted him to deliver the amount to one Keerthi at Hyderabad and therefore wanted to transfer the amount.
Naresh then requested the AGS security services’ account number and asked his uncle to transfer the money to that account. Vijay Shankar did the transfer.
The AGS security services employee then drew the amount from the firm’s bank account and came to Sravana Nursingh home lines, Malakunta, to hand over the money to him.
It was during the handover that the Central Zone Task Force team apprehended all the three accused along with the cash of Rs 70,63,000. The three accused and the cash were handed over to SHO Begumbazar PS, for further investigation.
