Hyderabad: An 11-year-old girl was allegedly stalked by a 50-year-old man, a neighbour, on Sunday. The locals caught the accused, Dasarath, and handed over him to the police.
According to Alwal police, Dasarath, a realtor, was allegedly following the victim, a Class VI student, from Suryanagar for the last few days while she was returning home from school. He reportedly showed her naked pictures in his mobile phone and asked her to accompany him.
The girl complained her parents on Saturday who assured that they would deal with him on Monday if he followed her again.
On Sunday morning, when the victim was playing in front of her house along with other children, Dasarath went there in his car and showed her his mobile phone and asked her to come near him.
The girl immediately alerted her parents and neighbours who caught Dasarath and beat him up, before handing over, said the police. Based on a complaint from the parents, police registered a case against Dasarath under relevant sections of the IPC
Dasarath was admitted to hospital for treatment of the injuries he sustained when he was beaten by locals, and will be placed under arrest after he recovers, police said.
