Bengaluru: Spot Naga held for rowdy murder

Police said that a special team was formed to crack the case.

Bengaluru: Nine people have been arrested in connection with the Wednesday’s murder of a rowdy in broad daylight in Basaveshwaranagar police station limits. Police investigations revealed that old rivalry with the rowdy, Sunil, and over a property dispute led to the incident.

The arrested have been identified as Nagaraja alias Spot Naga, 26, Nandisha alias Kencha, 19, Ramesh alias Pappu, 25, Kumar, 24, Vinay, 21, Gururaj, 24, Khadar, 28, Umair Khan, 23, and a 17-year-old minor.

Police said that a special team was formed to crack the case. As it was clear that Spot Naga was behind the murder, information was collected about his movement and all the accused were arrested on Thursday night. Lethal weapons used in the offence were also seized from those arrested.

“Investigations revealed that Spot Naga had a dispute with one, Yatiraj, a relative of Sunila, over constructing a house. Sunila was supporting his relative and this had led to fight between him and Naga. Sunila and his associates had also attacked and attempted to murder Naga, leading to his arrest. Naga, who had survived the attack, was waiting for Sunila’s release to avenge the attack. Sunila was released on bail recently and Naga, along with other associates, hatched a plot to murder him. According to the plan, they attacked Sunila on Wednesday morning when he was at home. They dragged him out and hacked him to death,” the police said.
