Bengaluru: Serial rapist Shivarama Reddy, 31, who was shot at and nabbed by the police on Tuesday, has reportedly confessed to have molested three women in a span of one week. Out of the three cases, the victim in one case had not approached the police to file a complaint.
Sources said that Reddy, who is still undergoing treatment at a hospital after receiving bullet injury in his leg, revealed on how he targeted PG accommodations late night and sexually abused women. “He has confessed that he has committed three sexual abuse offences at three PG accommodations in AECS Layout alone, that too within a span of a week. In the first incident, he has molested a woman but the woman has not filed any complaint. We are verifying the details related to this case,” an official said.
Besides this, two cases - one rape and the other molestation - were registered with the HAL police and Reddy has confessed to his involvement in both the cases. “Around 2 am late March 2 night, he committed the offence at a PG accommodation. A software engineer aged around 25 years and hailing from Delhi was raped by him. The next day, she filed a complaint and when the photos of the suspects were shown to her, she identified Reddy,” the official added.
However, there was some confusion in the third case as the victim just filed a theft case on March 5 stating that her mobile phone and purse were stolen. “The incident happened on March 4 night and the victim, hailing from Mumbai, had filed only a theft case on March 5. The next day, again she came with her parents and filed a molestation case,” the official said. Reddy use to target PG accommodations that did not have security guards, police said.
