Bengaluru: DG & IGP office staff steals office computer, held

Earlier in April 2017, an LED TV went missing from the DG & IGP office, but the accused was never caught.

Bengaluru: A worker from the DG & IGP office on Nrupatunga road has been arrested by Ulsoor gate police on charges of theft from the pension department of DG & IGP office. The accused, Srinivas is a worker at the pension department of DG & IGP office in Nrupatunga road.

According to police, a complaint was registered by the PRO on Feb 7, which said that a monitor, CPU and mouse were missing from the fourth floor of the office. On February 6, Srinivas remained at the office until about 8 pm, after all the other staff had left the premises. He knew that the metal detectors at the DG & IGP office would be turned off after 8 pm. The Ulsoor police checked the CCTV footage in which he was seen carrying a black bag after the office hours. This raised their suspicions and Srinivas was detained on February 8. After an investigation, he confessed to having stolen the computer set from the office.

Earlier in April 2017, an LED TV went missing from the DG & IGP office and a complaint was registered at the Ulsoor gate police station. The accused was never caught.

Theft at woman ASI’s house
In another incident there was a house robbery at a woman Assistant Sub Inspector's house. It took place on Friday, when her mother was out for her morning walk. The incident came to light when the inspector returned from duty on that night. The robbers have escaped with Rs.1 lakh and 654 grams of gold jewellery, a case has been registered at Adugodi police station.

Padmavathi, an Assistant Sub Inspector at Suddagunte Palya police station, was on duty when the robbery took place. According to the police, her mother went out for her morning walk while she had left early for duty on Friday morning.

The robbers entered the house through the main door which was not locked properly on that day and escaped with the cash and gold jewellery. Her mother returned home and did not realize a robbery had taken place until her daughter arrived in the night. She immediately registered a complaint with the Adugodi police who are trying to get the CCTV footage to identify the robbers.

The police said that her mother recalled two people sitting outside her house before she left for her walk.
