Chennai: A three-year-old boy died after he slipped into an open sump at a primary school at Athipattu near Minjur in Ponneri on Thursday. The body of the boy S.Kunal was found floating in the sump at the government primary school in Athipattu . The school authorities informed police personnel about the incident.
Kunal used to attend a nursery school near the government school and he used to play at the open space near the school with his friends. It is believed he went out of the nursery school to play and disappeared. The nursery school authorities believed Kunal may have gone home. They realised that the boy was missing only after his father Subramani approached the school in the afternoon.
The family found him dead dead and his body floating inside the sump at around 3.30pm. Subramani, a construction contractor, lives in a house in Athipattu. Subramani's wife Jayanthi works as a housekeeper at the Government Multi-Super Specialty Hospital in Chennai. The couple has two sons and two daughters and Kunal was their third child.
